The Critic is used to warm encomium, requests for autographs, and adulation. Yet those only seem to occur at night while sleeping. In a startling change of events The Critic was quoted in the New York Times. The Times ran a story about the Met's new stadium and the reporter used comments left by the Critic on Deadspin. Here's how it went: A discussion about the name change on a sports blog, DeadSpin (deadspin.com), reflected divided opinions among fans. While several attacked the new name, not all the DeadSpin readers were upset, judging by some of their comments. “I could care less about the name as long as the stadium has good sightlines,” wrote a reader who posted under the name Critic. “And beer.” Thank you, thank you. The line forms to the left. I'm astonished that any comment I make at Deadspin is taken seriously. The New York Times has fallen.
