What makes a sports editor tick? More to the point what upsets an editor? Having been fortunate enough to discuss this with a major daily editor (He saw us in The New York Times and the USA Today blogs) I can say that it's this type of material hogging. Editor stated that it drove him nuts to see other people take content, add ten words, provide a quick link and move along to the next post. Bravo! My point to him was that it's a way of publicizing newspapers. He disagreed stating that it's a way of avoiding original thought. Ouch. Patiently exploring his thoughts and ideas I came away with three goals:

• Provide links and comments that are appropriate but continue to use my own material.

• Wherever possible, include background.

• Join the other core group of bloggers disgusted at the putrid smegma that it that blog. Oh New Years day, please come quicker.
